Ever since the defeat of Kadaj and his brothers, Gaia became rather paranoid over the attempts on its existence. Fearing another attempt would soon come to ruin the peace once again, Gaia began to prepare a 'master plan' of sorts. In order to make sure it would be protected, Gaia fused together Lifestream and the DNA skeleton of Aerith, whom the Planet honored as the Last Cetra, into one physical being. This being, born of Lifestream and recycled DNA, was then put through rapid genetic-cellular growth within the Lifestream. After only a few months, the being took the shape of a human teenager. Feeling the time was right, Gaia birthed it's back-up plan. It delicately traveled the teenager through the Lifestream and into the lake surrounding the Forgotten City in the City of the Ancients.

Thus, Hiroki came into existence.

Waking up to find himself laying upon a crystalline alter, Hiroki had no idea how he came to be in this glittering place. He staggered his way out of the crystalline city, using a rather peculiar rod he found beside him upon his awakening as a sort of cane. He made it as far as the four-way path out of the City before collapsing upon the path. He would then awaken for the second time in a warm bed, being taken care of by a family of workers in Bone Village. He was told by the youngest member in the family, the married pair's young daughter, that they had found him unconscious on the path and brought him back to the village for medical care. This would be where Hiroki called home. Clothed and fed, Hiroki came to become apart of this family and adopted the last name Heartilly as thanks. He worked in Bone Village, learning about the Cetra race from the elders and soon grew to idolize the long-deceased race without ever a clue of his own genetic legacy.

The family would then move from Bone Village to the main continent, traveling by boat to Kalm Village. It was here that Hiroki started experiencing deja vu', visions and emotions plaguing into his head and causing him to suffer from multiple head-aches. Still, Hiroki was part of a family now and he wouldn't let minor head pains worry him.

Though, two and a half months later, Hiroki's head-aches suddenly got worse. It would be around the same time, that Professor Hojo's revival of JENOVA caused the Planet to scream. A scream that sent blistering pain through Hiroki's head, whom had been working for his adoptive-parent's Item Shop as a deliver boy. He had been in Nibelheim delivering a box of goods when the scream slipped into his skull, causing him to pass out. He woke up in the end the next morning, the Item Store keeper explaining what had happened. Hiroki would then explain his pains to the doctor in town, who advised him to read up on the Cetras. Upon the okay of his parents, Hiroki was allowed to stay for as long as he wanted; just as long as he called every once and a while. Given access to the old Shin-Ra mansion, Hiroki has since been living in the mansion in it's basement. Surrounded by books, Hiroki continued to ponder the same question to himself as he came to a new book.

Yay for my first submission, even though I didn't draw it! My great friend Mav drew this for me from my original design of Hiroki, my beloved Final Fantasy VII original character I use in RPs. His inspiration was, of course, Aerith Gainsborough because I love her so much. ^_^ I hope you like him!
